The Magical Animal is an award-winning contemporary American Craft Gallery that was formerly located in the heart of Georgetown, Washington, DC since 1990.  We have relocated our Gallery to PGA Commons West – next to “Off the Vine”.  Our Gallery entrance faces PGA Boulevard.

Our Gallery features artworks designed and crafted by over 175 contemporary American studio artists from all across the United States.  We are thrilled to have been selected as a Top 100 Retailer of American Craft.

Our Gallery showcases a wide selection of decorative and functional hand-blown art glass; paper-weights, perfume bottles, glass vases, platters, vessels & bowls, goblets and candle sticks; ceramics, wood, metal, raku, clay and copper sculpture; clocks & mirrors; Judaica, and an ever-changing selection of hand-crafted jewelry in silver, gold, glass, enamel, stones, and mixed metals.  Our collection of unique handbags is a Gallery favorite.  We will be introducing wonderful hand-painted men’s ties to our mix – in time for Father’s Day.

Customers often remark about the variety, quality, and uniqueness of the art that we choose – in a price range that is attractive, particularly for gift-buyers and those seeking unique home accessories.  We strive to mix a Collection that evokes a warm, unexpected, vibrantly colorful, and playful feeling.

The Magical Animal is co-owned by Rosa & Marshal Weisfeld.  Our Gallery’s name is inspired from the magical animals that touched and touch our lives – particularly Valentine, our much-loved wheaten-poodle.
